Lyon, 4-5 February 2017

In the weekend of 4-5 February, presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron organized a meet-up in a Lyon sports stadium. In that same weekend, Marine le Pen attended a Front National rally in the same city. Two days, two meetings, two different visions for France.

Later, with the elections edging closer, I used big words to write a tiny opinion on my choice for president. In it I mostly tried to untangle the reasons why the classical left and right wing parties were fraying in my second home country. It was published in the op-ed section of the English edition of The Observer, the Maastricht University independent weekly.
